Responsibilities Corporate Planning & Analysis develops / maintains budgets and financial systems while providing current, reliable financial data, analysis, and technical info. The Associate Financial Analyst is an entry-level corporate finance role in which the candidate will be mentoring with an established analytical team. The intent of the program is to develop in-house talent and bench strength and prepare candidates to support the procurement organization at H-E-B. The program spans 18 months in length in which you will be learning how to analyze data at H-E-B, how our financial systems work, building technical proficiency in our analytical tools and processes, as well as building relationships with the procurement team. After 18 months, you will be capable of fully supporting a business unit in an analytical manner. Associate Analysts in this program will be partnered in one of three roles on the team and may potentially rotate mid-way through the program to round out business knowledge. Ideal candidates are interested in a corporate P&A career path, have a background (education or experience) in analytics, are results oriented and highly successful, and have a natural curiosity to understand how something works and then improve it. Proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL) is desired but not required. Initial responsibilities will include standard reporting, basic adhoc analysis, budgeting, and building relationships with procurement Partners. As you progress in your experience, you will take on progressively more challenging assignments. Financial Functions: - Performs basic activities to support various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, analysis - Focuses on gaining knowledge, learning trends, influences, characteristics, quality and nuances specific to respective financials and the analysis necessary to communicate and present findings - Adapts new developments in the field of planning and control Analytics: - Participates in the review of financial data and maintains documented records supporting financial forecasts used in the rate and budget area - Performs research work and prepare analyses of financials - Compiles or prepares reports, graphs, charts of data developed - Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in manufacturing, sales finance, general business conditions, and other areas - Conducts special studies and cooperates with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies What is your background? - A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - 0 - 2 years of experience in related field Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Financial Analyst? - Strong analytical and time management skills - Strong presentation skills - Advanced PC Skills - Ability to successfully communicate with / influence upper level management - Ability to produce work that impacts management decisions and business results - Ability to manage large-scale projects from conception to implementation - Strong attention to detail Can you... - Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment - Travel by car or plane with overnight stays - Sit for extended periods - Work extended hours 07-2017
