Associate Director - Student Financial Services
**Job Description** Under the supervision of the Director of Student Financial Services, the Associate Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the comprehensive administration of financial aid to graduate and medical students. The Associate Director is involved in the continuum of aid administration through the application process, need analysis, verification, awarding of aid based on established packaging parameters, the use of professional judgment, disbursement of aid, mandated loan entrance and exit counseling and loan repayment counseling. **Qualifications** + Minimum of 4-5 years of related work experience in financial aid and student financial counseling + Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred + Must be detailed oriented and have excellent customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills + Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, need analysis programing, and technological experience with financial aid computer applicationsystems (i.e. Datatel, Colleague, Powerfaids, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.) **Compensation Statement** The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $79,720.00 - $161,199.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Non-Bargaining Unit, 802 - Enrollment Services - ISM, Icahn School of Medicine **Responsibilities** + Manages the administration of a comprehensive program of financial assistance to students while adhering to all federal, state, and college policies and regulations related to the disbursement of state aid and Title IV programs + Participates in program and statistical reviews/audits including, A133, FISAP, LCME Part 1B, LCME Tuition and Fee Questionnaire, etc. + Assists the Director with developing and implementing financial aid policies and procedures, including ensuring the office procedures manual ismaintained + Participates in Financial Aid Management’s testing new releases and training SFS staff on updated functionality + Assists the Director with developing and implementing financial aid policies and procedures, including ensuring the office procedures manual is maintained + Works with the Director to draft responses to audit inquires and assist with implementation of recommendations + Serves as secondary contact for federal, state, and internal auditor + Develops regular training materials and presents training session to SFS staff and surrounding offices incorporating all pertinent regulatory changes + Maintains master calendar of all federal, state and institutional reporting dates and ensures compliance + Provides information to students and the public through formal presentations at workshops, meetings, and classes, and through written communications to stakeholders + Awards student aid based on application and documentation review, conducting need analysis, exercise of professional judgment, calculatingawards based on packaging parameters, and certifying federal/institutional loan disbursements + Assists with other financial aid duties as assigned and other duties assigned by the Director of Student Financial Services **About Us** **Strength through Unity and Inclusion** The Mount Sinai Health System is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can contribute to excellence.
