What is the opportunity?
RBC Caribbean Banking (“RBCC”) is hiring an Associate Director - Stress Testing & Treasury Analytics Caribbean. This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of stress testing tools to support the data generation and aggregation for various internal and regulatory stress testing programs (specific focus on ICAAP & Recovery Planning), working with key stakeholders to produce economic scenarios, building analytical tools with insights into how RBCC’s balance sheet and key financial ratios perform under stress.
You will also play an important role in enabling Treasury to meet its strategic goals by identifying, delivering, and evolving the data ecosystem and its capabilities while ensuring the integrity and completeness of data in support of managing key risks, streamlining processes, and adhering to regulatory requirements.
In this role, there are unique opportunities to gain a birds-eye view into the inner workings of a large financial institution; learn finance, risk, and treasury concepts; employ data science skills; and learn how novel risks such as geopolitical tensions and climate change impact the Bank.
What will you do?
Collaborate with team leadership in achieving a transformation of Caribbean Banking stress testing capabilities and frameworksLead and support the development and advancement of foundational analytical capabilities to enable data-driven insights to be delivered by TreasuryMaintain deep understanding of ICAAP regulatory expectations across the Caribbean with specific focus in Trinidad and Tobago, The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Barbados and the Dutch CaribbeanDesign, construct and implement tools, processes, and methodologies required for stress testing production and analysis of RBCC’s exposuresDevelop the macroeconomic variable expansion tools required for stress testing. This includes historical data analysis, model development and validationAnalyze data using empirical and statistical techniques to fine tune financial and risk projectionsParticipate in development and analysis of stress scenarios, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure they are appropriate for use at the country and/or legal entity levelsProduce stress testing results covering the impacts on capital, liquidity and management action under various stress scenariosCross-functional participation and support in Group Risk Management (GRM) and Enterprise CT stress testing projectsBuild a deep and holistic understanding of the various entities within the bank and how changes in the external environment can impact financial performanceWork in tandem with the Enterprise Caribbean data SMEs to develop a strong foundation for Caribbean Treasury data and support the opportunities to allow for the acceleration of the work to establish the data quality and governance required to generate future growth for the teamCollaborate with key partners within the Business, GRM, and Sales, to recognize areas of opportunity and optimize treasury analytics and data capabilitiesKeep abreast of advances in stress testing analyticsOwnership of controls and oversight of inputs into Stress Testing & Recovery PlanningEnd-to-end project management, from idea conception, solution design, stakeholder buy-in, implementation and monitoringWhat do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Behavioral Economics, or other quantitative field of study3+ years of industry experience in financial services (stress testing, corporate treasury, risk management)Experience developing concise and impactful executive-level reports, presentations, and other deliverablesAdvanced proficiency with Excel, Python, SAS, SQL, and PowerPointAdvanced analytical, problem solving and time management skillsStrong understanding of banks’ balance sheets, P&L and capitalNice-to-have
Previous experience running ICAAP, Stress Testing or Capital Planning programs Proficiency with a range of data tools, such as Tableau, Bloomberg Terminal, etc. CFA, FRM, CTP or any finance- or risk-related professional designation/certification.What’s in it for you?
