Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Director, Site Maintenance and Reliability to join our team in Westport. This position reports to the Director of Plant Engineering. The Associate Director Site Maintenance and Reliability provides and has full ownership of manufacturing maintenance services to the plant to maximize the availability of Manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate provides strategic direction and a vision for Maintenance & Reliability Engineering at AbbVie Westport and mentors the team, partnering with them to formulate and execute strategies to build and support an efficient and best in class maintenance function. You will be responsible for setting and executing the long-term reliability and maintenance excellence strategy across all business units, including Biologics, Eyecare, Implants, Utilities, and Facilities. Lead the Maintenance Excellence Program for the site.
Roles and Responsibilities
Owns and leads Maintenance department goals and strategy for the site.Direct Leadership of 3-5 and with indirect leadership of maintenance business unit leaders with 40+ employees across maintenance site wide.Responsible for Production Maintenance, Reliability engineering, Maintenance planning, and Process Engineering.Accountable for management of maintenance budget [approx. 12MM per annum] for the sitePreparation of capital expenditure requests for plant including cost savings identification and implementation.Lead high-performing cross-functional and/or matrix teams, creating a positive employee engagement culture aligned to the AbbVie Way.Accelerate the development of key talent and ensuring development of key skills and competencies in relevant technical disciplines.Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits. Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Personnel, Safety, Quality, & Engineering.Has indirect/direct leadership of all maintenance leads across each of the business functions ensuring a focus on continual operational improvements and employee development.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Masters an advantage)8+ years of Engineering and/ or Operations experience (Large Molecule, Small Molecule, Biologics, Parenteral, API, Drug Product, Finishing/Packaging/Medical Device)Experience in Maintenance and Reliability engineering5+ Years in People Leadership role with experience managing leader of leaders advantageous/functional leadership.Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring of diverse teams to ensure high performance and strong ability to develop talent.Proven ability to manage financial budgets and implement Cost Improvement initiatives.Excellence in cGMP and regulatory environments relating to the regulated healthcare industry, project management skills, including the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting the predefined quality requirements.
