Indianapolis Device Assembly and Packaging (IDAP) is one of our largest and most diverse finishing sites, supporting multiple product platforms. The Printed Packaging Development group reports through the IDAP site and provides support to all US manufacturing sites.
Position Brand Description:
The Associate Director for Printed Packaging Development (PPD) leads the team responsible for establishing and executing the necessary processes to ensure all Printed Packaging Materials (PPM) are available for Indianapolis Device Assembly & Packaging (IDAP), Contract Manufacturing and other US sites. The PPD Associate Director will ensure alignment with regulatory, marketing and Global Supply Chain on priorities related to both routine and launch related PPM changes. The Associate Director will provide direction to his/her team such that the needs of the business are met within established timelines and that the end product meets compliance aspects.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Ensures the existence of a safe working environment for PPD employees through:Identification of required safety training and monitoring of training compliance.Establishment and monitoring of safety-related behavioral expectations.Engagement in consistent and proactive communication in order to facilitate a “safety-first” orientation to the workplace.Establishes consistent expectations around quality and compliance, including:Ensuring timely completion of training for self and direct reports.Establishing and maintaining processes that follow Global Quality System requirements around the launch of new products, extension of existing products to new markets, and PPM changes.Developing expertise in the artwork management system, change controls, regulatory, and other GMP processes related to PPD.Provides a challenging and rewarding environment for Supply Chain employees through:Establishing and consistently communicating clear performance expectations.Providing direct, timely and appropriate performance feedback.Coaching in the creation of career objectives and the development plans.Establishing ownership and accountability through involving employees in the design and / or implementation of departmental processes and measurements.Ensure PPD representation on product launch teams, 3rd party ventures, regulatory and Global Packaging forums.Partner with Product Brand Teams, Marketing, Strategic Facilities Planning, Regulatory and Global Supply Chain regarding future production plans.Lead weekly priority meetings with Coordinators, Graphics and PPD QA.Lead monthly team meetings to promote knowledge sharing, align expectations, identify challenges and drive continuous improvements.Manage/engage with third party graphics firm to ensure deliverables are met to support PPM requests.Challenges PPD employees to operate in an environment of continuous improvement through:Maintaining current documentation for primary departmental processes (i.e., procedures, job aids, process flow diagrams).Establishing performance measurements for key process points and monitoring achievement to established performance targets.Standardization of processes to facilitate performance repeatability, sustainability, and maximum use of departmental resources through cross-training.Utilization of prescribed global processes.Establishes and promotes relevant technical skills in the department through:Encouraging employees to obtain and apply relevant certifications from recognized professional organizations.Ensuring employees obtain capabilities to operate in a self-sufficient manner in the use of the primary business applications (i.e., Trackwise / BLUE).Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in packaging, supply chain, or related field3+ years industry-relevant experienceAdditional Preferences:

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
