Associate Director of Sales & Events

The Associate Director of Sales and Events is an experienced senior level hotel sales role

that reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Responsibilities include

managing and leading the sales and events staff as well as managing select key accounts.

The position is typically an 18 – 24-month commitment with a clear goal to experience the

training and development necessary to become a future Director of Sales Events for

Hyatt. The ADOSE responsibilities include but are not limited to recruitment, hiring,

mentoring and training of sales and event staff, lead sales and events meetings, working

with culinary, event services and audio visual, involvement with the annual business plan

process and budget process, forecasting, Sales and Events systems training, report

analysis, PL management, customer entertainment, community involvement and

networking. This position may be required to serve as Director in the absence of the

Director of Sales and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership Strategy

• Assist in developing and executing the annual sales and marketing plan to achieve

room and catering revenue targets.

• Participate in key account management, site visits, and client negotiations to secure

high-value business.

• Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor performance, and customer

feedback to identify growth opportunities.

• Participate in key account management including Event Sales including weddings, site visits, and client negotiations to secure

• Event Planning and Servicing, completing banquet event orders, leading internal BEO meetings with all hotel departments, Group Resumes

Event Operations Execution

• Oversee the coordination of group and catering events from contract to completion,

ensuring flawless execution and guest satisfaction.

• Partner with operations, culinary, and banquet teams to ensure events are delivered

according to brand standards and client expectations.

• Maintain strong communication channels between sales, events, and operations

teams for seamless service delivery.

Financial Administrative Management

• Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets, forecasts, and

performance reports.

• Review sales and event contracts for accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.

• Support the Director of Sales and Marketing in driving profitability through strategic

pricing, space utilization, and cost management.

Team Development

• Provide leadership and professional development to the sales and events team.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related

field preferred.

• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and/or event

management, with leadership exposure.

• Strong understanding of hotel sales processes, catering operations, and event

management systems (e.g., Envision, Delphi

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced

environment.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

• Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and
