**Description:**
Join our **Events Leadership Team** as the **Associate Director of Events** at Hyatt Regency New Orleans, where large‑scale events, meaningful experiences, and strong leadership come together at one of the city’s most iconic hotels. This highly visible leadership role offers exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership while serving as a key contributor to one of Hyatt’s flagship convention properties.
Hyatt Regency New Orleans is a 4‑Diamond hotel with nearly 1,200 guestrooms and over 200,000 square feet of meeting and event space. As a member of the property’s **Assistant Leadership Committee** , the Associate Director of Events supports the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of the Event Sales and Event Planning departments — all while living Hyatt’s purpose of caring for people so they can be their best. This position reports to the **Director of Commercial Services** .

**What You’ll Do**
• Assist in leading and managing the overall Event Sales and Event Planning operation for a large‑scale, high‑volume convention hotel
• Support short‑ and long‑term strategic planning for Events business, staffing, and revenue growth
• Maintain or exceed budgeted event sales, catering revenue, and profitability goals
• Achieve individual booking goals while supporting the overall property Event sales objectives
• Support the development and execution of marketing and sales strategies to drive catering and event revenue
• Evaluate event business to ensure operational feasibility and service excellence
• Partner closely with Culinary leadership to develop creative, innovative menu offerings aligned with client needs and kitchen capabilities
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on pricing specialty and custom menu offerings
• Train, supervise, mentor, and support Event Managers and administrative team members
• Lead and support the Events team in soliciting, booking, planning, merchandising, and executing banquet and event functions
• Work closely with Banquet and Set‑Up leadership to ensure quality standards are consistently met and elevated
• Assist in building long‑term, value‑based client relationships to support repeat business and long‑term revenue growth
• Support all phases of the Events department, including sales, planning, servicing, marketing, and administrative functions
• Assist with coaching and counseling team members in alignment with Hyatt service standards and performance expectations
• Ensure consistency, professionalism, and service excellence across all event touchpoints

**Qualifications:**
**What We’re Looking For**
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
• Minimum of **3 years of progressive Event Sales and Event Planning experience** in a large‑scale hotel or convention environment
• At least **3 years of experience in a senior leadership role** within an Event Sales or Event Planning function
• Service‑oriented leadership style with strong professional presentation skills
• Minimum **two‑year associate degree** required; **four‑year degree preferred**
• Proven strengths in leadership, motivation, communication, and operational excellence
• High energy level with an entrepreneurial, results‑driven mindset
• Ability to drive revenue growth and improve the department’s financial performance
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in **Microsoft Word and Excel**
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
