The Enterprise Data platforms enable the platform has developed an integrated and intuitive databases, integration and analytics platform. This platform enables Lilly business functions enables quickly utilize the database services, integration services and analytics platform.  

What you will be doing: 

The Associate Director – Integration Service Operations & SRE will lead the operations, reliability engineering, and automation of on-premises and cloud integration platforms supporting the Enterprise Data Platform in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. 

This role ensures highly reliable, secure, and compliant integrations across clinical systems, laboratory systems, research platforms, manufacturing operations, supply chain, and enterprise analytics platforms. The role blends technical expertise in hybrid integration ecosystems with SRE principles, driving scalability, observability, and compliance while enabling digital transformation initiatives across the organization. 

How you will succeed:  

Strategic Leadership 

Define and execute the integration platform operations and SRE roadmap, aligned with pharma-specific business processes and data modernization goals. 

Partner with enterprise architects, compliance leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and GxP-compliant integration services. 

Evaluate emerging integration and streaming technologies for scalability, automation, and cost-effectiveness within regulated environments. 

Operations & Platform Management 

Oversee operations of integration platforms such as Alytex, SFTP, IBM App connect, Azure Integration Services, and AWS AppFlow supporting clinical trials, LIMS, ERP, MES, and analytics platforms. 

Ensure 24/7 operational availability and manage incident, change, and release processes in line with ITIL and pharmaceutical validation practices (CSV). 

Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to standardize provisioning, configuration, and upgrades for integration services. 

Optimize integration workflows and event-driven architectures for latency, throughput, and cost efficiency. 

SRE & Reliability Engineering 

Design and implement observability frameworks with KPIs, logging, and distributed tracing for real-time monitoring of integration pipelines. 

Define and manage SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs for critical business systems across clinical, research, and manufacturing platforms. 

Establish robust incident response, RCA processes, and blameless post-mortems to continuously improve Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Recover (MTTR). 

Build self-healing integrations and drive automation for failover, recovery, and error-handling processes. 

Security, Compliance & Governance 

Enforce strict security controls, including role-based access, API security, encryption, tokenization, and zero-trust principles, across on-prem and cloud integration services. 

Ensure GxPand SOX compliance in all integration workflows and data transactions. 

Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, and InfoSec teams to support audits, CAPAs, and validation documentation for integration systems. 

Maintain comprehensive audit trails and system documentation to meet internal and regulatory audit requirements. 

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

Lead and mentor a global team of integration engineers, SRE specialists, and platform operations analysts. 

Foster a DevOps and SRE-driven culture emphasizing collaboration, knowledge sharing, and automation. 

Partner with business units, data engineering teams, and manufacturing IT to ensure seamless and compliant integration of new platforms and technologies. 

Provide training and operational playbooks to elevate platform knowledge and operational readiness.
