Principal responsibilities

Front to back ownership of delivery of a product (from requirement to production)Provides value during production incidents even for things that they haven't necessarily been involved in codingBreaking down a programme of work into manageable deliveriesExpertise in design and development of a significant application/business domainWrites owns standardsContinues to contribute to code and reviews other's code for best practiceBe able to solution design and make judgement calls about adoption of tech debtApply experience to identify most important parts of a problemHas a technical vision and can define a strategy of how to change a product to reach the visionAbility to step into the critical production issues and identify the root causeHelps remove impediments to team's productivityBuilds trusted relationships with the business and has a good appreciation of the business domain they work inDevelops talent within the team and helps create opportunities for junior team membersAbility to build a case explaining benefits to address technical debt / platform improvement
