This position is a hybrid role and can be located in Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or Spring House, PA. The Associate Director, Project Management (PM) Capabilities, will report to the Director, PM Capabilities and will serve as a point of contact for managing and supporting the Project Management Advisory Panel. This forum serves as a cross-functional, cross-Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (IM) R&D project management council, which shares relevant topics and organizes timely discussions. In addition to the panel, this individual will help manage and support learning events targeted towards project management topics and skills. These curated events will help foster a PM community that helps support their voice and assist with skill building. The Associate Director, PM Capabilities, will partner closely with Functional Leads and various Project Managers both within Global Development and outside (e.g., Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA), Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO), Finance, Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS)) to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration across the Project Management ecosystem. This role will act as a Project Manager to enhance visibility for all project management initiatives by providing transparency and visibility. In addition, support the delivery of the documentation of the PM Advisory Panel 1-pager, which collates and manages all the highlights and related materials for the PM Advisory panel. Drive consistency and standardization with project management definitions used across the Johnson & Johnson IM R&D Therapeutic Areas and Global Development functional business partners. In addition, this individual will partner with the Portfolio, Performance and Resourcing departments to expand and shape project management utilized to inform senior leaders. The Associate Director, PM Capabilities will also work closely with the J&J IM R&D Strategy, Portfolio and Operations (SPO) R&D Learn team to surface and curate appropriate access to PM skill building topics within the J&J Learn platform. In addition, this position will help pull through industry trends in the project management landscape, helping to curate and make available the latest in areas of opportunities for this workforce. This may lead to identification of updates to specific capabilities and activities in the PM space. Principal Responsibilities: + Manage and support the PM Advisory Panel, ensuring the topics are relevant and adequately prepared. Drive meaningful documentation and construct for engagement, issue post minute summary and follow-up on actions. Project Manager of all PM Initiatives by tracking and identifying risks in meeting milestone deliverables. + Provide connection to the J&J IM R&D SPO R&D Learning team. + Liaison for the PM contacts to drive accountability and support various functional Communities of Practice (COPs). + Ensure and drive consistency and standardization with project management definitions. + Continuous improvement to our project management capabilities and processes and providing input into the design of the operating model. + Proactively build and maintain internal (across Johnson & Johnson) and external relationships that support the PM Operating Model. Qualifications: + A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a scientific or business discipline. Master’s degree preferred. + A minimum of 8 years of experience with a pharmaceutical company or Contract Research Organization (CRO) is required. + Expertise in the areas of drug development, financial operations, and strategic planning is required. + Project management experience is required. + Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. + Experience leading diverse teams in a direct and matrixed environment is preferred. + Experience with information systems (e.g., Planisware, SAP/SEM, CTMS, Ariba, Power BI)) is highly preferred. + Solid understanding of the financial aspects of clinical operations is highly preferred. + Effective leadership skills, with the ability to cultivate team productivity and cohesiveness, required + Must have excellent communication skills. + Must have strong analytical and conceptual skills. + Must have strong planning and organizational skills with a focus on results. + Must be results and performance driven with the ability to lead and deliver in a complex environment. + The ability to recommend and implement process improvements and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required. + The ability to lead multiple projects is required. + This position will require up to 10% domestic and international travel. The anticipated base pay range for U.S. locations is $137,000 to $235,750. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
