What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Managing Director, Sales Enablement, the Associate Director, Program & Events is responsible for planning, management and execution of national and regional internal and external events and programs for the Advisor Channel Sales team and select programs for other RBC GAM businesses. As a senior member of the team, this role contributes and adds value through consulting on best practices and leading division initiatives that result in enhancing the client experience and improving efficiency and effectiveness in how the team operates.

What will you do?

Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the team of Managers, Programs & EventsLead and manage business initiatives that advance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team including, but not limited to, event registration technology, CRM processes, risk management and compliance protocols.Actively support overall budget management and contract negotiations.Manage targeted relationships with suppliers and key vendors.Manage and execute programs and events within the division and across business channel (when required).Develop program and events KPIs and analytics.Act as a strategic consultant to business leads and colleagues as it relates to event planning and execution.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

University degree.Minimum 7+ years’ experience in an event planning capacity.Minimum 4+ years’ experience in people management.Minimum 4+ years’ experience in financial services.Work effectively and collaboratively in a project and team environment.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.

Nice to Have

Event planning (CMP, CMM) designations.Knowledge of the Canadian investment business and sales processes/practices, including knowledge and understanding of National Instrument 81-105 – Mutual Fund Sales Practice Guidelines.Completion of either Investment Funds in Canada or CSC.Bilingual (French/English).
