**Associate Director, PDM Team System**
**_Location: Foster City_**
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Reporting to the Director, Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) Team System, PM Center of Excellence & Governance, and part of the larger PDM organization, the Associate Director, PDM Team System will work with PDM Project Strategy Leads to refine and implement PDM Team System tools, frameworks and processes that can be leveraged by PDM Product Teams.
**FOCUS AREA** **S**
+ Equip team leads, project managers, and cross-functional contributors with the tools, training, and support needed to effectively lead PDM (CMC) Teams aligned with Gilead’s product development goals.
+ Promote a culture of learning by offering training that improves PDM Team clarity, strengthens inter-team relationships, and supports enterprise-wide knowledge growth.
+ Facilitate process enhancements and cross-functional project alignment to ensure the success of PDM teams and governance frameworks.
+ Design and deploy knowledge resources, such as team handbooks and SharePoint sites, to ensure PDM Team members are well-informed and prepared to execute strategic goals.
+ Provide training to support PDM Team understanding, increase connectivity and learning across the organization
+ Solicit and analyze stakeholder feedback on the PDM Teams System, Stage-Gate Framework, and governance practices to identify opportunities for improvement and drive enhancements in PDM ways of working.
+ Develop, maintain and iterate on PDM Team System tools & processes in support of the PDM Product Teams. The PDM Team System encompasses tools, process and training covering meeting management, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closure.
+ The PDM Teams System must seamlessly support PDM product governance, product portfolio dashboards and analytics.
+ Support the Stage-Gate Framework (product lifecycle) process and templates (Planisware).
+ Maintain strong working relationships with PDM Product Strategy Leads and PMs as your primary customers and most valuable sources of feedback.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or business with 10+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceuticals, biosciences, or related industry; MS with 8+ years, or PhD with 6+ years.
+ Proven experience as a Project Manager supporting CMC product strategy programs.
+ Strong background in developing tools and processes for cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback and gap analysis.
+ Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement of project deliverables and team workflows.
+ Skilled in conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement, and influencing without direct authority.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills across diverse audiences and organizational levels.
+ Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder networks and respond effectively to feedback.
+ Proficient in project management and visualization tools including Smartsheet, Planisware, OnePager, ThinkCell, and Lucid App.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
+ Commitment to excellence, accountability, and high standards of execution.
The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
