Your Role at Baxter

The Associate Director, UCAN Medical Affairs, is a leadership position in the Healthcare Systems and Technologies (HST) Medical Affairs organization, covering the American and Canadian territories. This position reports to the Senior Director role and entails coordinating Medical Affairs support for PSS and GSS in the US and Canada, as well as providing strategic assistance to Canada and the rest of the HST portfolio. This position will lead and run the responsibilities of the Field Medical teams that support this segment daily.

What you'll be doing

Medical Affairs responsibilities include:

Regional Medical affairs input for new product development.

Drive regional assessment of evidence generation gaps and evidence generation plans (working with the GBU MA teams where needed).

Deliver Scientific communication plans and Non promotional education plans aligned to the strategic needs of the products/devices

Develop, manage and support advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, informative forums and coordinate and chair roundtable and informative meetings as needed

Collaborate with business partners to develop long-term strategic plans as well as Medical Affairs Plans including comprehensive thought leader plans.

Attend and provide scientific support at R&D exhibits and scientific sessions at regional, national, and international medical conferences. Identify and communicate new scientific findings and opportunities or threats that could impact the business.

Maintain medical and scientific partnership with the Global medical affairs organizations. Ensure efficient alignment on strategies and systemic teamwork on shared interests, (like data, clinical trials, publications, tactics, literature services, ad-boards, CMEs, etc.)

Support the management of Grants & Sponsorships ensuring accurate documentation, contracts and payment.

Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines.

Collaborate with Regional and Global counterparts within Medical Affairs and commercial teams.

Medical Affairs review and input into proposed IIRs along with maintaining accountability for ongoing status updates of existing IIRs.

Provide strategic support to build a robust NPE offerings plan for HST for UCAN region

Participate in clinical/scientific training of sales team members and other Baxter Functional representatives.

Field Medical Affairs responsibilities include:

Lead the Medical Science Liaison team.

Ensure plans and strategies related to:

KOL development.

External engagement metrics.

Support Baxter-funded research (IIRs, BCS, BSS).

Medical Education.

Clinical programs.

What you'll bring

Advanced Healthcare degree with at least 5 years of clinical experience.

Proven experience within the healthcare industry preferable.

Clinical trial experience with proven understanding of GCP desired.

Basic understanding of biostatistics and trial composition.

Digital literacy and PowerPoint skills.

Experience with literature review, synthesis and analysis.

Experience in public presentations.

Travel will be required and will involve approximately 30% of time.

Proficiency in establishing robust strategic partnerships with collaborators and peers along with a comprehension of the Clinical and Regulatory standards in the industry.

Effective leadership, interpersonal, analytical and problem- solving skills.

Ability to work independently and within groups in a congenial manner.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $184,000.00 to $253,000.00 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location.
