About the Role
The Investment Consulting Unit is an internal consultancy and transformation team delivering enterprise-wide change initiatives for the Group CIO, and addressing issues raised by AIA entity CIOs and Investment Committee members to improve investment processes, performance, and ALM and other risk exposures.The objective of this role is to assume responsibility for the delivery of a subset of the team objectives outlined above, and to build relationships and influence with Group and local entity Exco / Investment Committee members.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with Head of Investment Consulting to prioritise and manage team projects and initiativesDrive delivery of key complex GICU projects, including managing and mentoring delivery teams comprising of GICU colleagues, external consultants, and Group Investment colleaguesAct as a trusted advisor to key AIA entity CIOsWork with local CIOs, AIA and external asset managers, and Capital Management teams to optimize and implement investment strategies, including providing guidance and challenge to Heads of Asset Class, AIA AMC CIOs and other senior colleagues at AIA Asset Management CompaniesAdvise AIA entity CIOs on ad-hoc investment-related issues, including working with the Derivatives Centre of Excellence where neededPartner with senior leaders across business to develop and deliver the new asset strategies, asset management solutions and propositionsHead up the Performance Oversight component of ICU’s work by managing the integration of Group Investment KPIs into the investment processes managed by BU and AMC CIOs. Gain confidence and credibility with AIA entity and Group Exco-levels stakeholders to ensure that recommendations are approved by the responsible local entity senior management committeesMaintain and use a network of senior contacts with external asset managers, consultants, and investment banksPerform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/or other requirementsMinimum Job Requirements:
Education – Bachelors / MastersExperience – 15-20 yearsExperience in investment / ALM teams in developing investment strategies or opportunities for insurance companiesKnowledge of asset optimization for Asia-Pacific life insurance companiesCertifications/licenses – CFA or similar an advantage.
