The Enterprise Real Estate Solutions team within RTX is seeking an experienced and strategic Facilities Engineering & Capital Planning leader to join our Facilities Management organization to advance the maturity of our facilities engineering, infrastructure assessment and sustainment, and capital planning programs. The ideal candidate will lead the development of standardized facilities engineering practices, infrastructure assessment and strategic capital planning processes to prioritize investments that ensure reliable operations and support evolving global business needs across RTX’s global real estate portfolio. The leader should be adept at working with and influencing a broad global organization that is comprised of both internal and contracted engineering staff.
What you will do
Serve as the Facilities Management Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) leader responsible for the overall development and execution of a oneRTX approach to facility engineering, infrastructure assessments, and capital planning, including the development of strategy, goals, systems, processes, priorities and timelines. Develop a standardized global process for conducting facility and infrastructure assessments. Utilize assessment data to create facility condition indices (FCIs) at the site level for prioritization of operating and capital investment for facilities and infrastructure needs. Collaborate with regional Facilities Management (FM) delivery teams to understand current needs and priorities related to assessing and planning at the site, regional, and business unit level. Provide necessary training and support for standardized processes. Create a solution for asset management and capital planning which provides site and business level facility and infrastructure priority projects, based on a multifaceted prioritization matrix and results from assessments. Assist in the development of comprehensive strategic facility and infrastructure master plans. Partner with FM/Small and Major Project Delivery teams to standardize and improve on project design processes, execution, and transition/closure processes that ensure technical standards are met across RTX’s project portfolio. Serve as the change champion for engineering, assessing and planning and leveraging RTX’s CORE operating system to continually improve maturity and drive the organization forward. Develop and oversee a team of subject matter experts to create design and performance specifications / guidelines for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), and building automation systems (BAS) that drive efficiency, reduce risk and cost of maintenance, standardize products, and leverage the buying power of the full RTX portfolio. Partner with EHS and Energy/Sustainability teams to develop a strategy and protocols for building management systems (BMS) systems. Create regional recommendations to standardize future installations and create best practices with protocols, tracking, trending, metering and reporting. Serve as the ES Real Estate FM liaison with production to foster a cross-functional relationship that minimizes risk and creates a collaborative environment for supporting manufacturing efforts. Implementing sustainable practices to improve the environmental impact of facilities and reduce operational costs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements. Partner with EHS and Compliance when developing standards to maintain a safe working environment. Travel expectation: 20-30%Qualifications You Must Have:
This role typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Finance or related field and 12 years’ experience ideally gained in a facilities design, infrastructure management or Real Estate project management position or an advanced degree in an Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, finance or related field and 10 years’ experience At least 10 years’ experience with a broad and deep understanding of building infrastructure systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, automation) required to provide strategic direction to other discipline subject matter experts. Ability to think strategically as a leader but capable of breaking down strategic outcomes into tangible and executable improvement targets. At least 10 years prior experience with the development and sustainment of a technical specification and guidelines program for a global organization, developing standard facilities condition and infrastructure assessments and prioritizing, planning and advocating for site operational and capital needsAt least 10 years prior experience partnering with production leads to provide efficient, sustainable and reliable infrastructure which supports manufacturing. At least 10 years’ experience in developing a global team, program and implementation model.Qualifications We Prefer:
Corporate Real Estate experience strongly preferred. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and or advanced degree in Engineering, Business, finance or related fieldDocumented success leading large, complex, global teams which support multiple sites with varying levels of complexity and maturity. The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
