Job Description Purpose The Clinical Sciences Strategic Operations team is committed to elevating the Clinical Sciences business by propelling ideas into innovative solutions and promoting continuous improvement to pursue Operational Excellence. The Associate Director, Technology and Innovation, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the capital plan portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and resources. This role collaborates closely with BTS and business stakeholders, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Clinical Sciences functions to provide both strategic and tactical support. The role is instrumental in supporting decision-making processes through effective communication and meticulous management of capital planning, resource allocation, and budget oversight - key components for driving ideation, proofs of concept, and scaling transformative technology solutions. Responsibilities + Own and manage the capital planning process, budgets, and ready-to-go project lists for technology and innovation initiatives across Clinical Sciences. + Support operational aspects of the Clinical Sciences technology and data decision-making board. + Oversee and monitor the Clinical Sciences capital plan portfolio to align with business and BTS strategy. + Prepare reports, track risks, issues, and mitigation plans, facilitate resolutions, and manage team meetings and stakeholder communications. + Develop project proposals, estimates, and timelines, ensuring appropriate prioritization within the Clinical Sciences project portfolio. + Facilitate evaluation of new proposals for funding, aligning with strategy, goals, and resource capacity in collaboration with BTS partners. + Collaborate on medium/high-impact projects with limited oversight, simplifying complex opportunities. + Continuously improve technology solution development and implementation, fostering purposeful innovation to reduce time to value. + Support and enhance a governance framework that balances agility and accountability. + Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships, gaining alignment on initiative goals and objectives. + Prepare and deliver high-impact communications, presentations, and reviews for actionable results. + Effectively frame complex issues for decision-makers, creating management presentations that drive outcomes. This is a hybrid role based in our Lake County, IL headquarters. Qualifications Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree required. 7+ years of project/portfolio management or related experience; including 5-7 years in pharmacovigilance, clinical development, or business operations. + Experience in managing functional budgets and portfolio oversight. + 3-5 years’ experience defining and delivering advanced technology solutions, using data analytics, and data-driven decision making. + Proficient in collaborating effectively in a complex and matrix environment, applying and facilitating creative and critical thinking through diverse perspectives, and developing innovative solutions to complex opportunities. + Strong interpersonal and organizational communication skills. Ability to craft compelling business proposals with demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, driving enthusiasm and engagement to achieve common goals. + Proven track record of delivering results-driven solution development and/or continuous innovation with limited information or support.
