We are seeking a pragmatic and dynamic AI implementation leader to drive Global Medical Affairs (GMAF) AI initiatives. This role partners with cross-functional teams to design, prioritize, and deliver AI-enabled projects that advance medical strategy, evidence generation, and scientific engagement while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
The role will serve as the primary program manager for the Worldwide Medical Affairs AI Council, orchestrating cross-regional efforts and facilitating best practices sharing that shape the future of Medical Affairs in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Program Leadership
• Support end-to-end MAF AI initiatives including use-case evaluation, project planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment.
• Translate medical strategy and business needs into practical AI solutions; facilitate the assessment of existing tools and propose alternatives.
• Ensure GMAF AI strategic plans are aligned with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Apply disciplined project management: timelines, resourcing, risk mitigation, budgeting, and reporting.
• Measure impact via KPIs, dashboards, and executive updates.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of external environment, competitors benchmarking, technical and regulatory developments and inform relevant stakeholders.
Worldwide Medical Affairs AI Council Program Management
• Manage Council operations including planning, agenda creation, facilitation, documentation, and initiative tracking and outcome reporting.
• Maintain updated inventory of existing tools to facilitate knowledge sharing, avoid duplication and provide suggested solutions to MAF teams.
• Connect with TA-specific AI Leads in Global and Regional Medical Affairs teams to facilitate knowledge sharing, build consensus, resolve barriers to success. and advance AI adoption and upskilling.
• Support cross-functional collaboration across Medical Affairs, Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO), Data Science, IT, Legal, Regulatory, and external partners.
Governance, Compliance & Quality
• Ensure governance and regulatory alignment for MAF AI initiatives.
• Facilitate Legal, HCC and Client AI Governance Council review of initiatives for alignment and approval as required.
• Develop documentation including requirements, validation metrics, SOPs, and training, as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years (Associate Director) of relevant industry experience.
• Solid understanding of artificial intelligence applications in life sciences, healthcare, or pharma settings, including compliance frameworks.
• Proven experience delivering cross-functional AI/technical programs in regulated environments is highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management across medical, regulatory, legal, IT, and data science.
• Expertise in project management, including timelines, budgets and risk management.
• Knowledge of change management methodologies and digital transformation strategies.
• Experience with AI governance, compliance, and ethics in healthcare settings.
