Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Cloud Engineer to join our enterprise IT department in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of cloud architecture, security, and best practices to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based systems.
They will work in a fast-paced environment and must be adaptable to the many changing processes and technologies related to the various IT systems.
Responsibilities:
Deploy and manage GCP Infrastructure and ServicesCompute Engine, Cloud Storage, Backup & DR, Load BalancersKubernetes, CloudRun, CloudBuildGood understanding of Google infrastructure and networkingGood understanding of GKE, design, operations and troubleshootingCollaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with GKE and GCECollaborate on cloud security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and network securityMonitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability with DataDogAutomate cloud operations using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similarTroubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidentsStay up-to-date with the latest GCP features, services, and best practicesProvide technical guidance and support to other IT team membersDevelop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes
Qualifications3+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent2+ years of experience working with GKE and GCEKnowledge of GKE and integration with development teamsKnowledge of GCP services - Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, CloudRunProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShellAbility to use GitOps principles for all code-based infrastructureFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Bitbucket, JenkinsUnderstanding cloud security best practices, compliance requirements and IAC practicesExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and collaboration skillsAdditional Technical Qualifications:
