Work schedule: 3rd shift, Thursday-Sunday, 10:00pm-8:30am. Position is eligible for 15% shift differential due to 3rd shift hours.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
Review and certify LC/MS data from instruments utilizing Analyst and Ascent softwareDetermine if data is acceptable or not and then upload resultsResponsible for the verification of the calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to and including result entryPerform minor troubleshooting/repair and instrument prep of LC/MS systems as neededGains knowledge of department operations and procedures under direct supervision and in an entry level capacityConducts qualitative and quantitative analyses on organic and inorganic samples to determine their chemical properties. Participates in development of new analytical proceduresPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solvingEvaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual resultsProvide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and interpretation of final resultsAssist with training and orientation of new employees as neededPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory science, Medical Technology or meet regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsMinimum 2+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Associate Chemist levelExperience with Chromatographic Data Review preferred but not requiredDemonstrated success in clinical testing technical proficiency and scientific knowledgeAdvanced knowledge and understanding of specific laboratory and/or department functionsAbility to exercise judgment to determine methods and procedures on new assignmentsProficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screenFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsIf you're looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply today!
