The position is designed to improve the knowledge and skill set of high potential individuals as it relates to cataract device sales with the goal of moving into a sales role in the Commercial Sales organization. The Associate Account Executive (AAE) be assigned to a district and work closely with a Senior or Principal Account Executive. The AAE will be assigned to a dedicated geography within a district but will be available to work across the region as needed. The AAE under the mentorship of the Sr. or Principal Account Executive will learn the cataract portfolio of products. The AAE will also cover vacant territories within region as needed and may be called upon to cover vacant territories in another region based on business needs. AAE must be relocatable in order to apply/interview for a posted Account Executive (AE) role as it may be in another location, once AAE requirements have been met.   During the first 12 months the Associate Account Executive will work under the mentorship of the District Manager and Account Executive (Sr. or Principal) learning the complete portfolio of Cataract, technologies in the district. + Call on all Ophthalmologists and staff within a region to grow the market share of that area, as well as to maintain the current base of business. + AAE will be able to temporarily relocate to cover vacant territories within region as needed and may be called upon to cover vacant territories in another region based on business needs. + Provide technical product knowledge and in-service support to ensure customer satisfaction + Comply with required reports and requests, effectively manage Johnson & Johnson field assets to include consigned products, surgical instruments, surgical equipment, sales force automation, ancillary items, and operates territory within budgetary guidelines + Manage a budget for travel and expenses as well as for the territory + Demonstrate an independent, creative, and consultative/value-based sales approach to selling Intraocular Lens (IOLs), Phaco equipment, viscoelastics and surgical adjuncts + Selling time for IOLs, Phaco and adjuncts are consistent with current year marketing plan + Provide expert product knowledge about surgical and refractive techniques, technical product support, in-service programs and innovative educational programs + Prepare and provide detailed sales/procedural/financial presentations to new and existing customers + Leverage and effectively utilize all other Johnson & Johnson’s resources and sales personnel and strategic partners to enhance field productivity + Utilize Customer Resource Management System and computer hardware/software to enhance productivity. Prepares and submits on a timely basis all reports requested by management and marketing through use of email. + Effectively manage Johnson & Johnson’s field assets to include IOL consignments (achieve target consignment ratios), product samples (within assigned budget), surgical instruments, Phaco demonstration equipment/accessories and computer hardware/software. **Qualifications** + A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university + One to three years of any sales experience or three to five years med tech professional experience + Required to meet all grade requirements in all steps of the program + A valid driver's license in one of the 50 United States is required + The ability to work as part of sales team and support company goals and sales objectives is required + Relocation within the region after STEP graduation and determined by business need + The ability to travel (up to 75%) which may include overnight / weekend travel is required + Surgical O.R. or ophthalmic industry experience is a plus Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
