The Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Regulatory Affairs Team is tasked with the CIB’s strategy for policy, engagements, and leadership on all regulatory policy initiatives affecting the CIB businesses in the US and global markets.
As an Associate on the CIB Regulatory Affairs team, you will report to Global Head of Digital and CIB Payments Policy to aid in the analysis of and advocacy for key regulatory issues affecting the CIB business. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders, including the CIB Regulatory Affairs team and colleagues within the broader Global Government Relations team, encompassing Regulatory Affairs, State and Local Government Relations. You will have primary responsibility for a number of key reporting and briefing responsibilities and will support and actively engage in numerous key regulatory issues. As the public policy environment globally is evolving rapidly due to technological change and a desire by policymakers to drive economic growth and international competitiveness, you will provide support to the CIB Regulatory Affairs team in responding to this dynamic environment and feed into the firm’s advocacy, engagement, and strategic responses on key regulatory policy issues.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with relevant team members from CIB Regulatory Affairs overseeing a variety of reporting and presentation development for the CIB Regulatory Affairs team with a high standard of accuracy and timeliness Arrange meetings related to regulatory advocacy, including suggesting possible agenda items, soliciting input for agenda items from teams and partners, coordinating speakers, updating slides and compiling meeting minutes Develop relationships with regional teams (EMEA and APAC) to ensure seamless coordination for CIB advocacy across the globeProvide backup Support for Blockchain, Payments and 2 other substantive markets IssuesTrack ongoing advocacy success against the CIB priority itemsCoordinate periodic briefings for CIB Senior Leaders in their roles as board members for key trade engagements (SIFMA, ISDA, FIA, ABASA) Manage other ad hoc projects, such as contributing to the development of internal and external position papers, as neededRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 2+ years of relevant experienceProven ability to learn complex topics quicklyFamiliarity and interest in public policy, financial markets, and digital assetsWorking knowledge of AI/LLM to allow for enhanced efficienciesProven ability to interact with senior managementExceptional written, verbal and communication skills Strong attention to detail while still possessing ability to think broadly and strategicallyMastery of and proven ability to use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)Strong ability to multi-task and set appropriate prioritiesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
