This includes leading key aspects of deal execution including the credit risk assessment as well as ongoing portfolio management including annual credit reviews, limit monitoring, approvals for ancillary products such as derivatives, trade finance etc. You will be working closely with the Relationship Management team on client relationships to support the firm’s Capital Markets origination efforts. The Associate will sit in the US Corporate Bank in New York reporting to the Head of Corporate Portfolio Management. **How You’ll Succeed:** + Take over the daily and long-term portfolio management responsibility for a group of Corporate clients within the Consumer, Industrials and Technology, Media, Telecom verticals + Review and evaluation of Borrower Credit/Amendment/Extension requests including preparation of accurate and well analyzed risk analysis/ conclusion, financial modelling and coordination of Credit Application process with Risk Management + Oversee onboarding process for new clients including securing KYC & AML approvals as well as coordination with back office on Admin details and funding instructions to ensure a smooth transaction close + Monitor internal ratings and credit exposure for your portfolio and track on time delivery of Borrower’s compliance statements/financial reporting + Lead Annual Reviews for your portfolio including refresh of internal ratings models and AML / KYC + Proactively update Relationship Management & Risk Management with material news or developments on your client portfolio + Coordinate and support on day-to-day operational matters including loan draws/payoffs, temporary increases, overdraft approvals etc. + Coordinate and execute legal documentation in conjunction with internal credit approval + Respond to requests from internal and external Auditors and Bank Examiners + Support with internal reporting or other strategic initiatives including development of internal policies, rating models and other tools + This job in on-site 5 days a week **Who You Are:** + Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or other relevant professional designation is a plus + Strong work ethic, with attention to detail and creative problem-solving and excellent customer service/relationship skills + Team Player- ability to work in a dynamic team environment where priorities are shifting frequently + Strong analytical capabilities with experience performing financial & credit analyses + Advanced understanding of key accounting and credit concepts + Excellent oral and written communication skills with solid technical writing skills (financial & risk assessments) + Ability to influence discussions with key internal stakeholders including Relationship Management, Risk Management & Portfolio Management leadership, other banks, and Borrowers it. + **Values matter to you.** You bring your real self to work and you live our values – trust, teamwork, and accountability. \#LI-TA California residents — your privacy rights regarding your actual or prospective employment (https://us.cibc.com/en/about-us/california-consumer-privacy-act-employment.html) At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000-$175,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
