Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Control System Engineer

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Control System Engineers within our Equipment & Reliability Engineering organization for our North Charleston, SC Site.

Primary Responsibilities:

Designs, analyzes and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements.Researches, develops, evaluates and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products.Teams with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications.Estimates, plans, manages and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling.Develops and implements testing and acceptance to validate performance.Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans and trains personnel as needed.Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling.Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures.Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement2 or more years’ experience in engineeringProduction Critical Asset Care & PerformanceContinuous Improvement Methodologies and ApplicationUnderstanding of asset mechanical and electrical systems & conceptsProject Management Methodologies and Application

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5 or more years’ experience in engineeringComprehensive understanding of production assets to include system integration, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, power systems, mechanical, tooling and fixturing, etc.PLC’s/Safety PLC’s: Highly experienced with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs, etc.Safety: Safety Controls, System Design & Integration, Standards - NFPA, ANSI, ISO, etc.Industrial Operator Interface: Thorough understanding of GUI’s, HMIs, OIT, etc.Motion Control/Drives: Experienced in all VFD systems, Servo’s, etc.Communication Protocols: Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, etc.Power Systems: Highly experienced with Electrical Power Systems, Control Power, Basic Power Distribution up 600Vac, DC controls, etc.Robotics: Thorough understanding of integration with PLC; Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, etc.Networking: Highly experienced with networking of controls, PLC, systemsSCADA: experienced with building and setting up data collection systems; machine analysis softwareUnderstanding of industry Reliability Engineering techniques and practices, Preventative, Predictive, Prescriptive maintenance practices; Root Cause Analysis tools and concepts at the highest levelAsset Life Cycle Analysis, identifying obsolescence and mitigation strategyAsset Data Integrity, Leads Standards and DevelopmentComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in-depth knowledgeSME Leads Reliability Workshops to drive reliability across all assets and teams; teaches, mentors, and leads by example

Pay Range Summary:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Associate Level: $76,500 - $103,500

Mid-Level: $90,100 - $121,900

Senior Level: $110,500 - $149,500
