What you’ll be doing
As the Associate, Global Markets Sales you will Work closely with marketers and traders to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution as well as determine and provide product /rate information to our clients in a timely manner with exemplary service. You will be Initiating and developing clients including outbound and follow up calls, value-add idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions providing trusted advice. You will be liaise with other CIBC infrastructure groups (ISG, credit, treasury, tax, legal, client onboarding, etc) and resources, as appropriate, to deliver transactions and cross-sell other products, depending on product availability and customers’ requirements, rate sensitivity, at all times making sound judgment. You will Monitor/track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day to be in a position to respond to client requests and on your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management and share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of the Wealth Solutions Group. You will also attend learning sessions held by the Trading Room as required. This position is requires in office and frequent domestic travel.

How you’ll succeed
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS- Work together with relationship managers in Capital Markets and the Retail Bank across different product lines. Other key infrastructure groups supporting the equity and fixed income derivatives, such as Middle Office, Finance, Legal, Technology and Operations.COMPLIANCE- Work effectively within CIBC's corporate governance practices and policies (e.g. Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Compliance) to ensure all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that CIBC legal/reputation issues and shareholder objectives are covered, and to promote the firm’s vision, mission and values. As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.Who You Are
Education. Undergraduate University degree; Commerce, Finance or Engineering preferred, with at least 3 years of similar / relevant business experience required.Work Experience. Experience in the related industries is our strong preference. Background in accounting and finance is also an asset. Knowledge of current financial markets required with solid understanding of current market transactions.Technical Skills. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications( Excel, PowerPoint ,etc.)Collaborative. Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, in French and English, sufficient to convey complex factual and conceptual information on issues requiring detailed explanation and interpretation. Able to very quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to transactions and client relationships.Interactive skills: Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to develop, manage and leverage relationships with clients, internal and/or external business partners. Significant presentation skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion. Must hold a valid driver's license.Detail Oriented. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment. Values matter to you.
