**BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION**
CIBC Capital Markets aims to be the premier client-focused wholesale bank based in Canada. To achieve this goal, our wholesale banking division offers a comprehensive range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking, and research products and services to government, institutional, corporate, and retail clients in Canada and key global markets around the world.
**JOB PURPOSE**
The Wealth Solutions Group is part of CIBC’s Global Markets team and in this role, the Associate III will play a key role in supporting and expanding the Structured Notes offering for Financial Institutions, including Private Banks, Financial Advisors and Third-party Advisors. The focus will be on developing an innovative cross-asset Structured Notes franchise that meets the evolving needs of the clients. The successful candidate will be primarily concentrate on distributing CIBC Structured Notes through various established distribution networks in the APAC region. This includes implementing a robust framework and a fully Straight-Through-Processing (STP) experience for Structured Notes, leveraging advanced technology developed in Europe. The candidate will have experience in distributing Structured Notes as well as supporting the business by structuring and pricing, thanks to CIBC’s proprietary systems. This role is an opportunity for someone looking to grow their skill set and knowledge of Capital Markets in general.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
+ Assist the existing active marketers in the region with their daily activities and administrative tasks, including but not limited to the following:
+ Work closely with marketers and traders to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution. Collaborate and partner with other stakeholders within Capital Markets to provide best solution for the client.
+ Determine and provide our clients with product / rate information in a timely manner with exemplary service
+ Develop clients through outbound and follow-up calls, value-added transaction idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions, all the while providing trusted advice.
+ Great organization skills to develop and roll out a marketing plan
+ Cross-sell other products, depending on product availability and customers’ requirements, rate sensitivity, at all times making sound judgment
+ Monitor/track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day to be in a position to respond to client requests with timely trade ideas
+ Lead the implementation of a fully Straight-Through-Processing (STP) experience for Structured Notes, leveraging advanced technology developed in Europe, including connectivity with clients and existing multi-issuer platforms.
+ Ensuring an exceptional client experience by leveraging a strong and reliable technology infrastructure
+ Creating and implementing new functionalities tailored to meet client needs.
+ On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study Be prepared to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of Global Markets. Attend learning sessions hosted by the Continuous Learning Program as required.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
+ Undergraduate University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) preferred, with at least 3 years of similar or relevant business experience, as a sales role position in a bank, asset manager or private bank.
+ Knowledge of current financial markets, and an understanding of current market transactions.
+ Able to very quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the transaction and client relationships
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications( Excel, PowerPoint ,etc.), other programing skills can be a plus
+ Efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities on several simultaneous projects
+ Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills in order to develop, manage and leverage relationships with clients, internal and/or external business partners
+ Significant presentation/interactive skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion
+ Proven ability to develop viable product ideas and to lead product development process from idea generation through to closing. Strong project management skills
+ Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, sufficient to convey complex factual and conceptual information on issues requiring detailed explanation and interpretation
