Primary Responsibilities

The Machine Operator/Food Production Packaging is responsible as a team member of workers in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of one or more high speed production machines.

Essential Functions

Start Up/Change of product

Assure high speed packaging machine is correctly assembled and ready to operate at peak performanceObtain production run sheet, metal detector log, label verification sheet and all labels needed for each production runCommunicate with team on production run expectations (Product, run goals, pallet layers needed, ect.)Upload product run information into the Bagger/Scales (Product type, weight, bag length ect.)Verify Weights/Seals on pre-production runComplete and turn in Product Run SheetsConduct hourly metal detector checksChange out can liners and make sure all production waste is properly logged

Product Run/ Quality Inspection

Assure that the highest possible quality of the product is being maintained during production runsAdjust label machines to assure labels are correct and in proper locationsApply hand labels when necessary Change out labels/ink ribbons when neededCoach/Assist Boxers to conduct detailed quality checks (Insure seal integrity is intact, Product labels are present, correct and in proper locations, Remove rejected products from sorting table)Assist Boxers with palletizing, replenishing suppliesMake any adjustments to product run when neededAssist loader with rejected materialsMaintain a consistent workflow with minimal down timeTroubleshooting basic mechanical issues during production runs Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude Requiresd Mid Rise Safety Toe work shoes/boots on day oneAbility to lift products of various weights ranging from 10lbs to 60lbsBasic math skills to maintain proper work inventoryRead, write and understand the English languageWork on your feet for up to 10 hours a dayHand eye coordination to perform a verity of fast-pace tasksSelf-motivated and able to stay on taskHigh attention to detailBasic Abilities to operate assigned machinery
