As an Associate Energy, Materials and Power, Coverage, you will have an opportunity to join a highly motivated and extremely active US based Global Corporates sector coverage team, delivering a comprehensive suite of corporate investment banking solutions. At HSBC Global Corporates, we partner with the largest, most innovative and most international companies spanning Oil Gas and Power in achieving realizing their banking and corporate finance objectives.
As our Associate, Energy, Materials and Power Coverage you will:
Coordinate origination and execution for clients in the sector across the spectrum of solutions with a primary focus in: Credit and Lending, Leveraged Acquisition Finance, and Debt Equity Capital Markets), Transaction Banking (including Global Liquidity Cash Management and Global Trade Receivables Finance), Global Markets (including Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, and Commodities) and Global Asset Management with the aim to grow banking revenues and improve relationship returns
Build the Global Corporates franchise value and reputation in the market
Combine client relationship management and strong risk assessment ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns on risk
Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector, country, and product expertise as appropriate
Grow HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client and sector requirements
Monitor news, research, regulatory updates, and industry trends to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector and to synthesize how this will impact and present opportunities to the client portfolio
Liaise with relationship teams across all global sites to ensure the complete coverage of the sector portfolio from a local, regional, and global perspective
Assess credit exposures of each customer through a vigorous review process, active communications with global team members and frequent update of market intelligence
Work closely with the credit management and credit risk units to maintain a high degree of work quality, ensuring credit approval papers are tailored to the client and transaction in question
To be aware of and actively manage the Financial Crime Risk and relevant Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role, ensuring that all actions are taken to minimize the likelihood of such risk occurring
Ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations
Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
