Job Summary Job SummaryThe Assistant Track & Field Coach – Jumps supports the Track & Field program by providing expert instruction and mentorship to student-athletes in the long jump, triple jump, and high jump events. In alignment with the mission and core values of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, the assistant coach plays a vital role in fostering a competitive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment. This position emphasizes student-athlete wellness, technical growth, and character development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Coaching and Instruction • Provide technical coaching for long jump, triple jump, and high jump. • Develop and lead structured practice sessions focused on technique, strength, and safety. • Offer individualized feedback and instruction to support athlete progress and development. • Demonstrate proper technique and training progressions based on age and ability level. Program Support • Collaborate with the Head Track & Field Coach to implement season goals and daily practice plans. • Support meet-day responsibilities including warm-ups, athlete check-ins, and event oversight. • Assist in maintaining equipment, organizing drills, and promoting a positive training culture. • Help track athlete attendance, participation, and performance. Student-Athlete Development • Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting sportsmanship and academic balance. • Prioritize student safety and well-being through close collaboration with the Athletic Trainer. • Maintain an encouraging and inclusive team environment. Communication and Professionalism • Maintain regular communication with coaching staff, athletes, and families. • Represent St. Margaret’s Episcopal School with integrity and professionalism in all interactions. • Comply with school, league, and CIF policies and procedures.

Work takes place in a range of indoor and outdoor environments and may require prolonged exposure to weather conditions.
