What this job involves:

 

The Assistant Technical Manager will assist the Facilities Manager and the City Lead in (leading a team or) vendor group to manage the tactical delivery for the assigned property/facility, and be the on-site key point of contact for the key stakeholders &/or client in the absence of the City Account Lead. The responsibilities will include site management, AMC services, budgets, accounting and vendor invoice processing along with responsibility of managing hard services maintenance and operations, contract services, purchasing of material, equipment & supplies, critical environment management.

The primary expectation of this role is;

To drive a partnership with the business based on understanding, advising and analysing business demand and ensuring all hard services are functioning in its top performance.

To translate overall client’s business demands into specific functional actions

To ensure that those actions get delivered

To ensure there is consistency of service between multiple locations

To provide all Engineering support to the Facilities Management team at assigned Facilities.

To ensure timely and accurate completion FM reports pertaining to assigned Facilities

 

To achieve excellence in preventive maintenance programs at (Client) with highest standards and ensure energy conservation practices;

Assist the Facility Lead and City lead in managing M&E scope of the projects to ensure the quality and deliverables with in the stipulated time;

Assist in providing comprehensive facility, contract and procurement management for technical services to the client;

Contribute to achieving financial and other targets established. Achieve Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements targets.          

Support the facilities and technical teams in managing the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing installations & all Civil maintenance within the facility;

Responsible for preparation and maintaining adequate level of critical spares for all installations as per manufacturer’s recommendations and plan for the inventory where the maintenance is carried out with in-house teams;

Implement and oversee the pre-emptive maintenance programme to reduce the risk of sudden failures of critical equipment;

Assist the Facilities Lead to review the maintenance/service practices of M&E Contractors to deliver quality work practices in line with the manufacturer recommendations;

Maintain the logbooks, checklists and PPM schedules for all M & E installations;

Manage Downtime/ Breakdowns;

Manage annual maintenance power down

Arrange for ad-hoc M&E set ups as per the client requirement from time to time;

Ensure the contractors follow the house rules at all times and the projects are handled with minimum inconvenience to the Client;

Assume AFM responsibilities if need arises;

Responsible to handle the shifts independently on all Engineering related matters;

Education and experience

Graduate in any discipline.  8-10 years experience in facilities management. Tertiary qualifications in either Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering essential. Proven ability to function effectively as part of a team. Proven ability to initiate and follow through with improvement initiatives.

Timely resolution of helpdesk complaints

Effective team coordination of direct and vendor staff for efficient service delivery

 

An eye for detail
