The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Team Leader (ATL) who brings energy, decisiveness, and strong people leadership skills to the table. In this role, you will provide leadership, mentorship, and support to employees within your functional area—while also rolling up your sleeves to perform the same duties as your team when needed. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic group to drive results, foster continuous improvement, and ensure that safety and quality remain at the forefront of everything we do. What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead by example in safety. Foster a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Actively participate in safety programs such as Risk Assessment, 5S, and STOP. Champion quality. Monitor processes to ensure quality checks are carried out, provide feedback, and develop countermeasures to prevent defects. Drive continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for improvement (kaizen), recommend solutions, and lead the implementation of approved initiatives. Support TPS-driven activities including Jishuken. Coach and develop your team. Assign and observe daily work, facilitate training and cross-training, and provide feedback to support employee growth and performance. Support daily operations. Coordinate with supervisors/managers to align on production needs, report daily results, and perform production tasks as needed. Problem-solve proactively. Use structured problem-solving techniques to address issues within your area, escalating as necessary. Promote positive morale. Monitor employee engagement and partner with management to ensure a supportive and motivating work environment. Successful completion of the company’s ATL curriculum program within the first year in the position is required.What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of experience in a related functional area. Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and guide teams while demonstrating flexibility and dependability. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of effective problem-solving and analytical thinking.What Sets You Apart:
An Associate’s Degree in a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, or Wavetrak considered a plus. Solid understanding of production processes with a strong commitment to Toyota Production System (TPS) principles. Proven experience leading kaizen initiatives and driving continuous improvement activities.Where and When You’ll Work:
This is an in-person role located at our East Syracuse, Raybuilt facility —ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. You will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM until 2:30 PM.What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Wage - $ 23.00 – $ 29.50 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
