We are looking for an Assistant Teacher to support the Teachers while facilitating the intellectual and social development of our young children. You will engage children with patience and creativity. The Assistant Teacher will perform a variety of duties including assisting with supervision, maintaining the outdoor play-yard, and performing various duties to maintain a clean and safe learning environment. The Teacher Assistant, alongside the Teacher, is involved in providing quality care and educational experiences while continuing to foster a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to the following:

Actively engage with children to support social and emotional development. Assist in managing classrooms through positive redirection, problem-solving, and active listening. Follow routines that have been established to ensure smooth transitions. Ability to use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, structured and unstructured games, art, outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities and interests Some working experience in a preschool. Knowledge of child development. Patience and flexibility. Strong communication skills. Perform duties as required to maintain a clean and safe learning environment by: Keeping the classroom clean throughout the day; clean up group activities, clean/disinfect tables, clean/disinfect bathrooms, sweep after snack and lunch, restock and clean up art materials daily. Effectively fill in for Teacher in their absence. Continued education and knowledge of best practices. Implement activities as needed, providing a balance between child-initiated and teacher-informed activities.
