ASSISTANT TALK BRAND MANAGER Job Details Job Location Woodward Radio Group Appleton - Appleton, WI Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Job Category Management Description Overall Responsibilities : + Oversight of all specific on-air execution of show choices for WSCO, rotations, promotions, station imaging, and community involvement in order to achieve the highest awareness and ratings goals in the target demographics. + Recruit, schedule, coach, and train through air checking and monitoring part-time on-air staff, including commercial production, and provide input for possible discipline and termination of said staff. Look for and reward a job well done through various forms of recognition and bring to the Brand Manager's attention for overall awareness. + Monitor and train part-time on-air staff on posting compelling content to station websites and all digital products including social media. + Monitor part-time on-air staff presence at live events and expect professionalism in the community and all client interactions. + Assist in providing oversight and final approval to the Promotions Director to develop targeted audience promotions (including assisting in procuring prizes when necessary) and help determine promotional levels with the Promotions Director. + Assist in developing and maintaining a positive image for the radio stations, and all things related to the brands. + Assist in developing and operating departmental budgets according to the station’s projected goals. + Always lead by example and through empowerment, actively encourage and develop behavior related to success through Participatory Management, and a customer-first attitude, and display the Great Game of Business philosophies. Qualifications Behavior : Must have a “can do” attitude, be a self-starter, exhibit good interdepartmental skills, present a positive image with clients/customers, appropriate dress, communicate confidence in ability to perform job, flexibility, good at problem solving, etc. Maintain a valid driver’s license and adequate automobile insurance. Skills : Must possess good people skills including listening and communications. Ability to organize and maintain workflow, able to interact and build consensus under stress, use of diplomacy skills, display strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, knowledgeable about our music scheduling software (Music Master) and Audio Vault. Knowledge : Broadcast degree in communications or equivalent in experience. Three years professional announcing experience. An understanding of all types of radio formats and how digital enhances our radio products. Thorough understanding of FCC rules and regulations.
