Job Summary Job Summary

Description: JSerra Catholic High School’s Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated Assistant Swim Coach to support the Swim program. The Assistant Coach will provide practice support, technical instruction, and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and spiritual and personal growth consistent with the mission of JSerra. Responsibilities: • Support the head coach in developing a program culture that promotes healthy competition, spiritual and physical growth, team unity, and an enjoyable experience for all athletes • Assist in creating and implementing seasonal practice and training plans, including pre-season activities • Help supervise and mentor student athletes, offering one-to-one coaching when needed • Assist in game-day and meet-day operations including equipment preparation, set-up, and breakdown • Take attendance and help communicate team activities, expectations, and updates to players and parents • Assist with logistics such as transportation coordination and equipment needs • Attend and participate in all practices, competitions, and team events as directed by the head coach

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work collaboratively with a coaching staff • Demonstrates initiative, discipline, enthusiasm for the sport of swimming and mentoring student athletes • Ability to follow professional guidelines set forth in CIF, JSerra Employee Handbook, and Athletics Manual Education & Experience: • Extensive knowledge and passion for the sport of swimming, including CIF and NFHS rules and regulations • Previous coaching and/or competitive swimming experience strongly preferred • Current certifications in CPR, Cardiac Emergencies, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussion training, and NFHS • Ability to work well with others and uphold JSerra’s coaching standards
