Location Description Located along the shores of Chatham, Massachusetts, Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Five-Star resort, stands as a timeless beacon of hospitality, blending rich history with modern luxury on 25 oceanfront acres. The Inn has 217 rooms and suites, from the historic Main Inn to dozens of cottage-style buildings with flower-lined brick walkways and breathtaking views. Chatham Bars Inn is one of Cape Cod’s most beloved destinations for family vacations, romantic getaways, and corporate retreats. Overview The Assistant Spa Director will be responsible for but not limited to assisting the Spa Director in managing the operation of the spa and the spa staff. Managing day-to-day activities of the spa Promote teamwork and motivation through daily communication Ensure prompt response and follow up to guest’s needs Assist in hiring, planning, scheduling, and organizing staff to ensure proper coverage Follow through with new employees to ensure proper paperwork is complete and guide the new employee through the orientation process Responsible for managing and monitoring Spa Attendants Manages all aspects of inventory to include purchasing, maintaining retail and back-bar products as well as monthly reporting Assist in managing the spa budget, payroll and labor costs Ensure that Chatham Bars Inn Standards are adhered to including Forbes,Preferred, and AAA. Ensure that all staff are properly trained and that they have the tools and products to effectively carry out their daily tasks Communicate and enforce policies and procedures Oversee the development and implementation of internal training Assist in the design and formulation of protocols (Standard Operating Procedures) Schedule and organize staff treatment rooms to ensure proper coverage and optimal use Point of contact for all Spa parties and groups Additional duties requested by the Spa Director Qualifications Minimum of 3 years management experience in spa industry or related field preferred Demonstrated leadership abilities Knowledge of cost controls, inventory maintenance, and budgets Superior communication skills Must be flexible Flexible with schedule and can work weekends, AM or PM shifts and holidays Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Current TIPS Alcohol Certification or comparable alcohol service certification
