Description: This role functions as an Assistant Softball Coach at Presbyterian College. Presbyterian is a member of the NCAA (Division 1), competing in the Big South Conference. Reporting to the Head Softball Coach, this position will assist the head coach of the softball team in all aspects of the program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Identifies and recruits potential student athletes
•Performs on-field instruction and player development
•Monitors student athletes’ progress and implement strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit and academic success
•Helps maintain the facilities with all required field work.
•Performs administrative duties such as travel and camp coordination and execution
•Assists the Athletic Staff with game management duties as assigned
•Assists the athletic retention coordinator with the monitoring of student-athlete academic progress
•Promotes athletic programs and events to the campus and community.
•This role is designed by the institution as a Position of Trust
•Performs assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the college
•Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
•Adhere to all NCAA Division I and Big South guidelines and policies.
•Follow all rules and regulations as outlined by the Presbyterian Faculty/Staff Handbook.

Bachelor’s degree General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division I level Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations or ability to learn and retain quicklyGeneral knowledge of Title IX regulations General knowledge of FERPA guidelines Knowledge and the ability to apply technology to athletic program management Knowledge of athletic field, and athletic area maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to position and two plus years of related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education. General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at the NCAA Division I level Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations or ability to learn and retain quickly
