Required Education:

4 Year Degree In conjunction with the Head Coach, the Assistant Softball Coach will plan and execute a successful program that would include duties such as: conducting regular team and individual practice sessions; coaching the student athletes, evaluating athletes performance in practice and competition; monitoring the conditioning and training of student athletes, advises and counsels student athletes regarding their obligations to comply with all rules and regulations related to financial aid and eligibility, as well as personal conduct and academics;

Arrange and conduct recruiting functions including off- and on-campus visits, evaluations and contacts of prospective student-athletes;

Ensure that necessary athletic equipment and gear is available and in proper condition for scheduled practices and competition and makes recommendation for repairs or replacement, as necessary. Works with department’s liaison to apparel company to order appropriate gear/uniforms;

Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, travel arrangements, budget preparation and monitoring, and maintaining statistics. Attend coaches’ preparatory meetings and implements strategies resulting from these meetings; and,

Assist with game management including setup and breakdown as needed.

Prior coaching experience at the college or club level or as a collegiate athlete.

 

First Aid, CPR, AED certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
