Job Title: Assistant Security Manager

The Assistant Security Manager supports the Security Manager in overseeing all security operations at Pinnacle Bank Arena and Pinewood Bowl Theater. This includes ensuring a safe environment for patrons, clients, and staff, assisting with scheduling, training, incident response, and facility inspections, while collaborating with the Security Manager and the Security Coordinator to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for a motivated and diverse candidate who is eager to work both in event security and building security operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Assist the Security Manager in planning, organizing, and supervising security personnel and activities.
• Support scheduling with Security Coordinator and building security/event security guards, monitors, and dispatch staff for day-to-day operations, events, and call-offs.
• Collaborate with the Security Manager to ensure adequate staffing for all events and operational needs.
• Work directly with clients, advancing and implementing all their security requirements.
• Respond to and resolve disturbances, complaints, or security concerns, including escorting disruptive individuals off the premises as necessary.
• Conduct facility tours to inspect doors, windows, gates, and fire alarm systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Work directly with police, K9, fire, EMS, Governor’s Executive detail, and other security personnel and/or safety organizations.
• Help manage and maintain the building’s Security control center, including oversight of dispatch operations and coordination during concerts and events.
• Have a strong understanding of in-house dispatching software and ensure it is used effectively during all building operations.
• Ensure that the fire alarm control panel, security access, and camera systems are updated, functioning properly, and compliant with standards.
• Oversee the fire alarm system and do all training of the fire alarm system.
• Investigate incidents, write detailed reports, and meet with the Security Manager to review procedures.
• Develop and coordinate training programs for part-time employees, enhancing awareness of safety, security policies, and emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with all department leads on trainings and ensure communication is clear during all training activity in the building.
• Meet with building security and event security leads at least four times per year to assess performance, review processes, and improve team communication.
• Assist in crowd control, emergency responses, and unusual situations such as fires, storms, or riots.
• Oversee dock security, maintain shipping and receiving documentation, and track equipment and key inventory.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new policies and regulations created by ASM Global for security and compliance purposes.
• Rotate with other facility managers to function as Manager on Duty (MOD) during events, assuming responsibility and authority over all clients, staff personnel, patrons, security and safety.
• Work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Prepare payroll, maintain records, and compile call off reports for management weekly.
Position requires ability to:
• Strong knowledge of security operations and challenges in major sports and entertainment venues.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations, make sound decisions, and take immediate action.
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment—must be comfortable handling digital paperwork, scheduling tools, and documentation systems.
• Physical capability to patrol the facility extensively including all stairwells, lift up to 50 lbs., and operate light machinery.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail in following instructions and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance for operating motor vehicles in the U.S.
• Assist with ongoing event needs and expect changes.
• Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy workload, which can present stressful situations.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in security, training, and supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisor role is required.
WORK HOURS:
Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Working events is a requirement for this job and hours will vary by event. This position works closely with the Security Coordinator and Security Manager to maintain a secure and professional environment at Pinnacle Bank Arena and Pinewood Bowl Theater.
