ASSISTANT SALES PLANNER

Essential Function 
In coordination with vendors, the Merchandise department, stores and FS management determines optimum purchase quantities of promotional and sell-through products be vendor by month.  This is a hybrid role reporting into the office on Tuesdays and Weds of each work week.

Primary Duties

Select promotional merchandise to prebuy to Franchisees. Reach out to vendors to request deals for AMLP only promotions Maintain spreadsheet with monthly promotions. Consolidate spreadsheet for all categories. Proof monthly magazine. Main point of contact for Merchandising marketing pieces Maintain communication and interaction, including monthly group calls as needed with key stakeholders (vendors, merchandise staff, marketing, FS management) Gather and consolidate input from stakeholders relative to product info, trends, needs, plan adjustments, etc. Builds scorecards and various means of tracking and communication for current promotions and incentives. Provides administrative support by maintaining and processing the related paperwork for the planning function and various other duties as needed. Provides weekly, monthly and seasonal reporting needs of the area including tracking of key item selling, hindsight reporting, and trend analysis to report risks/opportunities by vendor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, math or statistics preferred. 6 months in a position requiring data analysis, problem solving and reporting. Proficient in MS Excel & Word. Knowledge of the retail metrics, preferred.

Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management. Precision and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to articulate logic and rationale for proposed actions.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
 

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
