Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer specializing in Marine Supervision to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing marine construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising marine construction projects, including dredging, land reclamation, and coastal protection worksConduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulationsReview and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and contractor submittalsPrepare detailed technical reports, progress updates, and quality control documentationCollaborate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project milestones are metMonitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to maintain efficiencyImplement and oversee quality control measures throughout the construction processAssist in the preparation of contract variations and claims assessmentsEnsure compliance with local and international maritime regulations and standardsParticipate in project meetings and provide technical input to support decision-making processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum 12 years of experience in marine engineering or a related fieldProven experience in supervising marine construction projectsStrong knowledge of marine engineering principles and coastal engineering conceptsProficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD softwareExcellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficientlyAdvanced problem-solving skills and analytical thinkingStrong technical report writing abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteThorough understanding of maritime regulations and standardsProfessional Engineer (PE) certification preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environmentWillingness to work on-site in challenging marine environmentsAdditional InformationAbout AECOM
