Job DescriptionJob Summary
The Assistant Resident Engineer will work with AECOM's construction supervision discipline engineers, independently or under the direction of the Resident Engineer, advising on all engineering matters related to roads construction.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve Contractor's technical submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, and materials, as delegated by the Resident Engineer.Oversee Inspectors' daily activities, review their reports, and provide guidance on the supervision of the Contractor's operations.Coordinate with Contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend recovery actions.Ensure high quality of works during the construction period, strict compliance with the Employer's Requirements, Project Specifications, and Safety Requirements.Review Contractor's design for compliance with Employer's Requirements, Authority Requirements, End-User Requirements, and Local and International Standards.Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports to the Resident Engineer, detailing progress, non-conformities, and any issues requiring attention.Participate in project construction meetings and assist in resolving construction problems.Review as-built drawings and assist in punch list preparation.Perform claims analysis and evaluate Contractor's personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 15+ years of experience in Construction Supervision and Management, including roles as Senior Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.Proven track record managing complex sewer system projects, with in-depth knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of work.Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
