The Siegal lab is seeking to fill a part-time Assistant Research Scientist position for a project on the genetic basis of complex traits. Responsibilities may include performing and analyzing experiments using the model yeast species Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The candidate should have an undergraduate degree in some field of biology. A master’s degree is preferred. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act the annual base salary for this position is $24/hr for 20 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Qualifications being sought are laboratory experience in molecular biology and ability to perform statistical analyses in R. In addition, experience in yeast genetics is an advantage. The researcher hired for the position will help other lab members with executing experiments and analyses, as well as with maintaining chemical inventory, equipment and biological stocks.
