Assistant Project Manager/ Estimating Assistant
Job Description

An Assistant Project Manager/Estimating Assistant provides crucial support to project managers and estimators by managing bids, assisting with project planning, tracking progress, and performing administrative tasks like data entry, quantity takeoffs, and bid document management. Key duties include performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor quotes, maintaining project documentation, monitoring budget and schedule, and communicating with project stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesPerform quantity takeoffs and assist in creating cost estimates.Solicit bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Download and track bid documents, addendums, and specifications.Maintain historical cost data for future estimates.Assist in setting up projects in relevant software.Track project progress, budget, and spending.Monitor project documentation, including shop drawings and invoices.Coordinate with on-site foremen and project managers to manage manpower and material purchases.Register for bid opportunities, review documents, and communicate with potential bidders to gather competitive quotes.Assist with schedule development, coordinate with site personnel, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.Prepare regular project updates, track milestones, and report on budget adherence and potential issues.Essential SkillsStrong organizational and computer skills.Excellent communication abilities.Attention to detail.Solid understanding of construction terminology and mathematics.Proficiency in project management and estimation software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.A detail-oriented and self-motivated mindset.Ability to work effectively as a team player.Experience in commercial construction.Work Environment

The work environment includes both in-office settings and on-site visits as needed. The role offers great pay with ample opportunity for growth and advancement within a small company. There is a bonus structure available for all employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $7500.00 - $90000.00/hr.
