Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works in construction and fit-out projects. The Assistant Project Manager (MEP) ensures seamless integration of MEP services with civil and interior works, maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and effective stakeholder coordination through all phases up to final handover.

Job Description

About the Role:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

Assist Project Manager in overall MEP planning and executionReview drawings (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV)Coordinate with design consultants, architects, and vendorsPrepare MEP execution strategy as per project timeline

2. 🏗️ Site Execution & Supervision

Monitor day-to-day MEP site activitiesEnsure installation as per approved drawings and specificationsSupervise contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting)Ensure proper sequencing with civil & interior works

3. 📊 Quantity & Billing Support

Assist in quantity take-offs (BOQ verification)Track material consumption vs BOQVerify contractor bills and RA billsSupport in cost control and variation tracking

4. 🧾 Documentation & Approvals

Prepare and track:Shop drawingsMaterial submittalsMethod statementsEnsure approvals from client/consultant before executionMaintain proper documentation (important for audits & handover)

5. ⚡ MEP Coordination (Very Critical in Fit-Out)

Coordinate between:HVAC vs ceiling layoutsElectrical vs furniture/workstationsFire fighting vs services clashesParticipate in coordination meetingsResolve site clashes quickly (MEP + Interior coordination is key)

6. ⏱️ Project Scheduling & Tracking

Assist in preparing project schedules (MS Project/Primavera)Track progress vs baselineIdentify delays and escalating issuesEnsure milestone achievement

7. 🔍 Quality Control

Ensure all MEP works meet quality standardsConduct inspections and checklist verificationEnsure compliance with client specifications and standards

8. 🦺 Safety Management

Ensure safety practices at site (especially electrical & working at height)Coordinate with safety teamConduct toolbox talks for MEP workers

9. 🧯 Testing & Commissioning

Assist in:HVAC testing & balancingElectrical testing (IR, continuity, load testing)Fire alarm & sprinkler testingEnsure all systems are functional before handover

10. 📦 Handover & Closeout

Prepare:As-built drawingsO&M manualsSnag list clearanceSupport final handover to client

💡 Additional Skills Required

Strong coordination skills (MEP + Interior integration)Knowledge of codes (NBC, NFPA, local authority norms like BMC/NMMC)Software:AutoCADMS Project / PrimaveraExcel (for tracking & reporting)About You:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/MEP with 5+ years of experience in MEP execution for construction or fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NBC, NFPA, and local authority regulations.
• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, especially in handling MEP and interior integration.
