Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team.  This position can be located in several cities, including: San Diego, Tucson, and El Paso.

Summary of responsibilities:

Assists the PM and/or CM in the monitoring and execution of design and construction contract administrative and technical requirements. Performs contract correspondence, document and plan control functions, inputs data into management system, the project information management system, and prepares management information reports on the status of each.Attend and document project meetings (write minutes).Maintain project filing and document management systems (hard copy and electronic).Update and maintain sets of drawings, specifications and logs.Distribute documents, maintain document logsManage the Request for Information (RFI) process.  Receive record, review, transmit and track RFI’s.  Maintain RFI logs in the project information system.Manage the submittal, design bulletin, and plan revision process.  Receive record, review, transmit and track through resolution of the task.  Maintain appropriate logs in Prolog, the project information system.Perform expediting functions.  Prepare and maintain expediting log.Assist in project schedule status reporting.  Evaluate contractor progress. Document and report quantities in place and validate against original estimate / schedule quantities.Manage the correspondence flow for change requests, proposals and change orders. Review and evaluate change order submittals and quantity surveys.Prepare requests for testing services and verify their receipt and execution. Document and track QA, QC, non-conformance reports and punch list work.Compile, record, transmit for reviews, monitors review process, and tracks contract close out documents (O&M manuals, as-built and record documents, etc.)Complete other responsibilities as assigned.Conduct the Design Review process for all project related deliverables with stakeholders, including but not limited to organizing stakeholder engagement process, review comment process, page turn process and comment reconciliation process.Organize weekly design reviews with stakeholders including but not limited to preparing presentations, meeting with designers and contractors and presenting it to stakeholders in collaboration with designers and contractors. Participate in project coordination and design review meetings to identify interfaces and coordination requirements.Prepare project specific scopes of work for all consultants in collaboration with Authority staff.Support manager in developing the Project budgets, cost estimates and project schedules. Review all design and deliverables, bid packages, contract documents and design changes, submittals, and RFIs related to the trade package’s coordination and conformance to the project/ program requirementsMonitor design and construction progress against the project parametersAddress Operations and Maintenance issues in the design, including issues that may interfere with operations or maintainability of facilities and utilities.Review design documents for compliance with SFO Requirements, guidelines and standards.Compile and maintain project records and documents including for coordination with other departments and agencies.Assist in preparation of project data and information for Authority management and external governmental communicationReview and monitor to ensure RFIs, submittals, and field changes are addressed in a timely manner.Assist in compiling the bid packages, bid review and award recommendation of work authorization packages/GMPAttend pre-bid conferences, bid openings, pre-construction, safety, and construction progress meetings.Provide support in preparation and distribution of meeting announcements and meeting notesSupport manager in the project close-out and in case of needed warranty workContribute to the advancement of SFO’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience working on federal projectsDue to the nature of this role, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Requirements:

Significant experience on large, federal construction projects

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an enhanced background investigation, which may include, but is not limited to, verification of employment and education, a criminal history review, drug screening, and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check, as applicable.
