In this role you will be part of a project team on a Mission Critical / Data Center construction project. The APM will provide administrative project support to the program manager and senior project manager assigned to the data center project. Project support is achieved through the coordination of the activities of the field installation team and tracking and documentation of critical project information as the project progresses. As an APM, you will be empowered to learn the skills and competencies required to become a successful Project Manager. As the APM progresses in knowledge and experience opportunities will be given to execute Project Manager level activities within the safety of the larger Project Team. Should mission critical project work become unavailable, you will be assigned to support the project teams, in a similar role, working on other electrical construction projects. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Understand contracted project scope of supply through review of plans, specifications, project schedules and other supporting project documents that create project definition. + Work with the project design team and site contractors to track the project schedule timeline, keeping an up-to-date tracking of the project + Maintain and update the project labor plan by tracking construction activities of the other sub-contractors working on the project and evaluate against internal project schedules short term (three week look ahead) and long term (critical path and key achievements) + Work with Labor Superintendent to ensure labor plan is being carried out as planned, maintaining man loading project chart for project + Help to coordinate fabrication workshop schedule to maintain timely fabrication deliveries to site + Attend project coordination meetings to ensure our work is not being impeded, can be installed according to plan, and on time. + Track and communicate changes to key project documents, including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFI’s, change events, etc.to provide project team with current project scope basis as the project progresses + Track material and equipment deliveries and help manage installations and start-up. + Communication with project team stakeholders engineering/design, project management, field trade leaders, fabrication shop, purchasing, subcontractors, etc, both verbal and written + Promote and enforce a safe working environment + Satisfy customers’ needs to develop repeat business + Other project duties as assigned **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three years of related project work experience or 5 plus years related project experience without a degree + Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems + Knowledge in reading plans and specifications for purpose of tracking installation requirements + Experience in monitoring labor performance to document labor productivity and progress. + Knowledge in generating construction schedules and updating of same (MS Project experience is a plus). + Experience with Microsoft office, Word, Excel and MS Project + Autodesk (AutoCAD) and Blubeam proficiency is a plus + Excellent communicator in both written and verbal forms. + Self-motivated, working under minimal supervision. + Team player with the ability to motivate others with a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills. + You bring a willingness to learn and are on the lookout for ways to improve existing processes + Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required. **Notice to prospective employees: There have been fraudulent postings and emails regarding job openings.
