Assistant Project Manager
Description Construction company in the Ronkonkoma area seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager / APM to join their growing PM team. This role offers plenty of career upside in working with an established and team-oriented department. Your job will have you supporting project managers and ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you will play a vital role in maintaining efficiency, building client relationships, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company. Responsibilities: • Assist project managers in coordinating schedules, materials, and resources to ensure timely project completion. • Monitor and update project schedules to reflect the status of ongoing activities and milestones. • Facilitate communication between departments, vendors, and clients to align project expectations and deliverables. • Support the management of change orders, including documentation, tracking, and status updates. • Oversee material procurement and coordinate with vendors to meet project requirements and deadlines. • Maintain accurate records of project activities and ensure all documentation is organized and accessible. • Collaborate with estimating and drafting teams to streamline processes and meet project deadlines. • Help manage project close-out activities, including final documentation and ensuring client satisfaction. • Build and nurture client relationships to promote future business opportunities and sales. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management or a related role. • Preference for experience in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints. • Familiarity with commercial construction projects and processes. • Strong skills in AutoCAD, drafting, and Bluebeam Revu software, preferred. • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously. • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and client interaction. • Project Management Certification is preferred but not required. • Ability to work both in an office setting.
