Job Title: Assistant Project Lead - Civil & Interior (Commercial Fit-out)

Department: Project & Development Services (PDS)
Location: Mumbai, India
Experience Required: 6+ years in commercial fit-out projects

Position Summary

JLL's Project & Development Services team is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Lead to manage civil and interior fit-out projects for commercial clients. The successful candidate will support project delivery from conception through completion, ensuring quality execution within budget and timeline parameters while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

Assist in managing end-to-end commercial fit-out projects including office spaces, retail outlets, and corporate facilities

Coordinate civil and interior works including partitions, flooring, ceiling systems, HVAC integration, electrical installations, and specialized interior elements

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestone adherence and timely delivery

Monitor project progress against established timelines and budgets, implementing corrective measures when necessary

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to specifications

Stakeholder Management

Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams

Facilitate regular project review meetings and provide comprehensive status updates to senior management

Manage client expectations through proactive communication and issue resolution

Coordinate with building management, local authorities, and regulatory bodies for necessary approvals and clearances

Technical Oversight

Review architectural drawings, technical specifications, and MEP coordination drawings

Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and JLL quality standards

Supervise contractor performance and workmanship quality across all trades

Manage design changes and variations through proper change order processes

Oversee material procurement, quality verification, and timely delivery to site

Financial Management

Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for project components

Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures

Review and process contractor invoices and payment applications

Prepare regular financial reports and variance analysis

Team Leadership

Guide and mentor junior team members and site supervisors

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and specialists

Foster collaborative working relationships across all project stakeholders

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field

Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in commercial fit-out project management

Proven track record managing projects ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 square feet

Experience with Grade A office buildings, corporate headquarters, and retail fit-outs preferred

Technical Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of civil and interior construction methodologies

Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)

Advanced skills in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and project collaboration platforms

Understanding of MEP systems integration within interior environments

Knowledge of Indian building codes, safety regulations, and local authority procedures

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Client-focused approach with strong relationship management skills

Proven leadership abilities and team collaboration experience

Preferred Qualifications

PMP certification or equivalent project management credential

Experience with sustainable building practices and green building standards

Background working with multinational corporations and consulting firms

Familiarity with JLL systems and processes (preferred but not essential)
