Position Summary: SUNY Cortland’s History Department seeks applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in modern US history at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2026. Salary Range: $62,000-$65,900 Major Responsibilities: The successful candidate joins a dynamic and growing History Department with more than 200 undergraduate majors and eight tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Its robust curricular offerings support undergraduate majors in history and adolescence education in social studies as well as an online graduate master’s degree in history. Required Qualifications: + PhD. in History by time of appointment. Preferred Qualifications: + Research and teaching fields in 20th century U.S. history. + Subfields are open, but the department invites applications from candidates with expertise in the history of social/political movements, the civil rights and labor movements, and/or the latter-20th century.
