**FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT**

The English Department of Baruch College, CUNY, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in Postcolonial/South Asian/Global Anglophone
Literature.
We are seeking a scholar whose scope of expertise includes literature that is both regional and global and who is able to link texts across the specific historical lineaments of post coloniality. Candidates should possess a specialization in South Asian literature and literatures of the South Asian diaspora, especially as they intersect with and deepen knowledge of the theoretical and pedagogical implications of the Global Anglophone. Teaching opportunities will include courses in postcolonial literature, Great Works of Literature (our college-wide world literature requirement), First-Year Writing, and other courses within the successful candidate’s research and teaching purview.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
**COMPENSATION**
$82,663- $98,995; commensurate with qualifications and experience
