The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences. The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as excellence in research. Faculty research interests include algebra, analysis, combinatorics, differential equations, geometry, inverse problems, math education, mathematical modeling, number theory, scientific computing, and topology, as well as applications of these areas. The Department of Mathematics has around 150 undergraduate majors and 73 graduate students, with currently 29 tenured and tenure-track faculty. The successful applicants will have evidence of scholarly research, as well as a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses as assigned by the Department Chair, as well as the continued development of an excellent and well-recognized research program. Conditions of EmploymentPre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job Qualifications 1. Doctorate in Mathematics or related area by application deadline. 2. A research program in Applied Mathematics. Preferred Job Qualifications 1. Evidence of scholarly research in Applied Mathematics. 2. Evidence of teaching skills that show the candidate is prepared for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
